From Dorm Decay to Dream Dormitories: Be a Changemaker for St. Francis!

Fellow Alumnus,

We are appealing to you today to rally your support for a crucial project at St. Francis Secondary School: the rehabilitation of 11 dormitories.

As you yourself bear witness, St. Francis Secondary School has played, and continues to play, a vital role in providing quality education and currently stands out as a haven for over 700 students.

For varying reasons but primarily to do with ageing, the status of the dormitories is now a cause for concern. This not only impacts the students’ living conditions but also poses potential health, security, and safety risks.

As Ba Malole, we are launching a fundraising campaign to raise ZMW 382,904 to fully rehabilitate one dormitory. This project will provide a new roof, improved ventilation, upgraded sanitation facilities, etc. In doing so, we will create a healthier and more conducive learning environment for generations of students to come. As explained recently, the aim of rehabilitating one dormitory is to demonstrate the ability to execute the work and also to minimise the disruption that a more extensive undertaking would inevitably impose on the school ecosystem.

Take note that we seek not just donors but also donation champions—individuals who believe in the transformative power of education and are willing to go the extra mile to make this project a reality.

By becoming a donation champion, you will:

  1. make a significant financial contribution. Regardless, remember that every donation, big or small, brings us closer to our goal.
  2. Help us spread the word. Share our message with your network and encourage others to join the cause. As we’ve learnt many times over, our WhatsApp group is  but a tiny fraction of Ba Malole mu Chalo.
  3. become a voice for St. Francis as you champion the importance of this project and the impact it will have on the immediate learning environment and the surrounding community.

Investing your time in St. Francis Secondary School rehab is an investment in the future of our community. With your support, we can ensure that future generations also have access to quality education in a safe environment and under a culture that formed us.

Kindly view the bill of quantities as posted, appreciate the quantity, and make a donation. Together, we can make a difference! So consider joining us in this critical endeavour.

You can contact us at +260978176188/0966640732 or chairperson@stfrancismalole.com to discuss how you can become a donor champion. All donations must be deposited into our ZANACO account, as earlier posted by the Alumni Treasurer above. As is our custom, updates on monies accumulated will be given regularly by our treasurer. He’s a steady hand, a qualified accountant, and a senior registered auditor.

Thank you for your time now and for your consideration in supporting this noble cause.

Sincerely

C. Silavwe

Alumni Chairperson
